Cleaning and Surface Preparation
Start by thoroughly cleaning the chrome surfaces to remove dirt, grease, and any residual contaminants.
Buffing Off Oxidation
To address oxidation and surface imperfections, use 0000-grade steel wool. This fine steel wool is perfect for gently buffing away oxidation without scratching the chrome. Restoring the chrome’s reflective quality and smooth finish.
Final Polishing
After removing the oxidation, polish the chrome with a high-quality polish to remove micro-scratches and enhance clarity.

Cleaning and Surface Preparation
Remove all dirt and grime from the plastic surfaces using soapy water followed by isopropyl alcohol.
Buffing and Finishing
After the solution has been applied and allowed to cure, we buff the plastic surfaces to a smooth, even finish. This step not only enhances the appearance but also ensures the longevity of the restoration.

Do you come to me?
We’re a mobile-based detailing unit, as such we have all of the necessary equipment and tools to complete the trim restoration. What trim restorer do you use?
We utilise Solution Finish Trim Restorer, a superior option to your run-of-the-mill silicone-based plastic restorers which only last a couple of weeks, and just wipe off! With advanced milling technology the carbon molecules have been reduced to the size of a virus allowing them to penetrate the porous plastic material, bonding to the plastic, and restoring the deep black finish for longer. It essentially acts as a dye, bonding to the plastic as it cures. Allowing for a durable finish that is sure to turn heads.
What polish do you use for Chrome?
We use Meguairs Ultimate Polish, as it can effectively eliminate micro-scratches and restore the original look and condition of the chrome. It includes beneficial polishing oils making the chrome trim pop.
How long will the results last?
The restored black plastics will last up to two years with proper maintenance such as regular waxing, or an even more permanent solution such as ceramic coating. We recommend pairing this with our wash and wax service as it allows for a complete exterior makeover as well as provides durable protection to the plastics to keep the deep black for longer.
Can you remove scratches from the Chrome or Plastic?
We can remove light scratching from the chrome exterior trim during the buffing and polishing process, however from black plastic exterior trim, the same cannot be done as it’d require the plastic to be reformed. Which we do not recommend as it would impact the integrity of the plastic, increasing brittleness and decreasing durability.
